Pre-Casa Program
Finding a safe, stimulating environment for your growing toddler can have its challenges. There are many individual needs at this age as each child progresses at their own pace. We realize you want to make the best decision for your child and a Montessori environment provides a strong educational base supported by the individual care so important at this early stage. MLCP provides small class environments and recognizes that children require specific attention and encouragement as they grow into more independent beings. There is a careful balance of life skills and play and learning that takes place in the Pre-Casa classroom. All activities are overseen with loving, nurturing and understanding staff members.
Our Pre-Casa setting (18 months to 3 years) combines the age-old orientation or learning materials – blocks, puzzles, etc… with the marvels of introductory Montessori materials. Life skill exercises encourage independence in daily activities and matching and sorting exercises prepare the young child for our “left to right” and “top to bottom” society. Many thematic and cultural games and activities offer a look at the world outside of home and school. Daily French along with weekly music, art and physical education offer a well-rounded and interesting programme.
Students here begin to respect each other’s time and space, the importance of kind words and actions and the challenging management of “group situations”. A comfortable 1:5 ratio offers continuing support but also the realization of each student’s beginning move towards reading, writing and all our world has to offer.
The specially created Montessori materials in each classroom allow students the concrete, mutli-sensory exploration with colourful and exciting materials needed to establish a foundation for continuing development.
