Infant Program
Finding the right care for your child at an early age can be an overwhelming feeling. And we understand that leaving an infant in the care of others is a huge leap of faith needing support, encouragement and proven reassurance. Having a comfortable, secure space for your child’s time away from you is of utmost importance to us. MLCP appreciates these requirements and strives to deliver an environment that is safe, nurturing and loving. This allows you to focus on other obligations during the day.
The MLCP Infant programme (6 months to 18 months) was established in 1996 primarily as a pilot project with 4 staff babies. Searching for a caring individualized option, the original parents wanted nurturing interaction in an open and progressive environment and were unable to find a facility offering the safe comfort level so important to them. That is when the Infant programme was born. Infants in our care acquire growing independence, confidence, social reinforcement and a trust and bond with their caregivers. French through music is introduced in these earliest days. Stories, songs, gross motor activities, specially created materials, and many hugs and cuddles help each baby to grow in self assurance and daily life skills.
A ratio of one adult to three infants allows physical comfort without overwhelming contact, assistance without smothering and the freedom to explore and grow in a safe and interesting environment. As with all MLCP groupings, our programme is created to support parental convenience. The Infant Room provides all snacks, drinks and lunches. Bottles or “sippy” cups with required formula, breast milk or milk should be supplied to each child’s individualized food storage area. Bedding for each personalized crib should be provided and will be sent home for laundering as necessary, but, at least once per week. Parents supply diapers, wet ones and clothing changes.
